Friends of Cobbossee Watershed Get Home Energy Audit Special Offer

Thayer Corporation of Auburn attended the annual meeting of the Friends of Cobbossee Watershed in May and made Watershed members an offer: Thayer would donate 5% of the total cost of home energy efficiency modfications to the Friends organization for any member with modification costs over $2,500. Thayer also offered members a $200 discount on home energy audits.

Thayer is partnering with Green Homes America to introduce a home energy audit program that brings energy efficiency upgrades to a whole new level in Maine. Home energy modifications often qualify for energy rebates, and can quickly repay costs with energy savings.

The primary difference in the Thayer Green Homes America program is the guarantee of energy savings. Thayer Corp will run the energy audit, explain the results and suggest efficiency upgrade options to the home owner. If Thayer Corp then implements the home modifications or upgrades, they guarantee at least a 25 percent reduction in heating and cooling costs on all qualifying projects. The audit includes assessments of building insulation, air penetration, appliance and heating plant efficiency, and covers the house from attic to cellar.
